Emotionally-charged with roots
in both classical and contemporary music, Ivory
Winds delivers a seamless combination of piano, flute and
saxophone.
The delicate intricacies of
Jack Scannell's flute zip in and out of songs like
"Symphonic #1" and "Coastal Winds,"
depicting a picture of serenity, painted by a flute with
wings. Framed nicely by Forrest Paul's deft fingers on the
keyboard, it is hard to imagine such a full, rich sound coming
from so few instruments.
It would be far too easy to
call this recording a "reflection of nature."
For while it does lend itself to
visions of coastal breezes and forest streams lined with
colorful birds, there is nothing in nature as sultry as the
aptly-titled track, "Blues For Lovers."
For fans of background music,
IvoryWinds
is the perfect accompaniment to a drink after a
long day, a quiet afternoon alone, or a fantastic addition to
a romantic dinner for two.
Ivory Winds makes its presence
known without saying a word, proving that not everything from
the Northwest is grunge.
